I love Instagram. It’s bloody fantastic, especially just before you travel somewhere. All you have to do is find a hashtag relevant to the place that you’re visiting and there you have it – your homework is complete! You find where all the cool kids are hanging out (so you know which places to avoid), you see what the most popular eats are (so you know where you’ll also be photographing your food like a douchebag) and you find out all about the area’s quirks (in the case of Berlin, that appears to be dogs in drag).
By searching for my new Berlin neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg I a) got ridiculously excited about being there in three days and b) quickly realised a few things…
Prenzlauer Berg has some interesting looking street art…
Even Adele is around to say hello… (sorry)
People in Prenzlauer Berg love coffee and cake… (my kind of people)
And there are flower shops seemingly everywhere…
Prenzlauer Berg is very vegan/vegetarian friendly…
And people love books so much they exchange their old ones with strangers…through this tree bark…(how.frigging.cool)
There are stories everywhere…
As well as some amazing looking places to work from…
People seem to forget their clothes everywhere…
And there are cute-looking cafes on every street corner…
It’s an area of dog lovers (yay!)…
Yeah another dog photo, but OMG I love them…
You never know what you’ll see while walking around…
But that’s part of its charm…
And, most importantly, people LOVE to eat…
I can’t wait. Prenzlauer Berg, I hope you’re ready for me…
