I’ll cut to the chase; my former partner and I went our separate ways just over a month ago.
When it first happened, I was deeply sad that I’d have to leave this blog to essentially ‘die.’ I thought it would be too difficult to continue to write for something that was ‘ours’ for almost a year.
After doing a lot of thinking, though, I’ve decided that the show must go on. I put a lot of love and creative energy into this blog, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of the experiences it has given me. Why should I leave it to die? Plus, I’m feeling miles better about everything now. My focus is firmly on my future.
Truth is, I’m still not sure whether I’ll be settling down somewhere any time soon, or whether I’m going to continue my journey solo for a while. But regardless of which road I choose to take, I know that travel will always be a massive part of my life, so there will always be plenty of material for the blog.
So, not only am I the ‘scribble’ of this site now – I’m also the ‘snap,’ which I find incredibly exciting! I’ve always loved photography and this means I’ll be able to work on that aspect a lot more now.
This is a new chapter for me and thankfully I don’t need to do any soul searching to ‘find myself’ – I know who I am. I’m a 32-year-old woman who loves to travel and who loves to write. I’m also a 32-year-old woman who wants to go and learn how to cook pasta in Italy, which is exactly what I’m going to be doing over the coming months. I’m also a 32-year-old woman who wants to go partying in Barcelona; again, something I will be doing next month. I’m a 32-year-old woman with dreams and the ability to make them all come true.
And that, my friends, is exciting. Life can throw up unexpected challenges, but I’m lucky enough to be a strong person, to have the world’s most amazing friends and family, and to know that the best is yet to come.
I hope you all continue to join me on my journey.
You’re one of the strongest women I know, so I don’t doubt that you are going to have some of the most exciting adventures and brightest futures! Never give up hope and keep believing. We are all here for you, and we have all become invested in your journey, so don’t stop writing! You have been so inspiring, and a real role model for a lot of women out there.
Thank you my love for such lovely words. I am truly lucky to have friends like you.
Nothing or no one will ever knock my self worth. The show goes on 🙂 x
Andrea – I am glad you decided to stick around, I have enjoyed reading your posts so much! Excited to see your snaps 🙂 Have an excellent month cooking, dancing, and following your passions — I am looking forward to following along!
Very kind of you – thank you 🙂 And thanks for the support, it means a lot. I hope our paths cross someday x
It’s good you’ve decided to continue creating this blog – your posts are a good read and the design is classy 🙂 Keep up the good work!
Thanks Joanna, that means a lot to me 🙂 Once the initial ‘sting’ of the breakup died down I knew instantly I wanted to keep going. I love working on this blog!
